We are delighted to announce that Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne, after many years of working towards this goal, has finally been awarded Full Accreditation in the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland as managed by the Heritage Council. The certificate marking the achievement, which ‘benchmarks and promotes professional standards in the care of collections and recognises through accreditation the achievement of those standards within the Irish museum sector’, was presented to the Curator, Isabel Bennett, at a ceremony in Kilkenny Castle on 10 July. We will continue to strive to improve on all aspects of the running of the museum, enabling us to, in due course, be considered of a sufficient standard to be awarded Maintenance of Accreditation.
