Isabel Bennett, Curator, Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne, and Máire Uí Shíthigh, Director, Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne, travelled to Dublin yesterday to an awards ceremony organised by the Heritage Council which took place in the Royal College of Physicians, at which the certificates for both Interim and Full Accreditation in the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland were presented to seven participating museums by Conor Newman, Chairman of the Heritage Council. Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne was successful in its recent re-application for Interim Accreditation, and is now striving to achieve all standards necessary for Full Accreditation.
