We were delighted to welcome Frank Lewis and his crew to the museum recently, for a recording of his popular Radio Kerry programme, Saturday Supplement.
Along with some invited guests, Frank, the curator Isabel Bennett, and development officer of Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne, Máire Uí Shíthigh, toured the museum and discussed and debated some of the items on view and their history. Everyone involved agreed they all learned a lot (and also often agreed to disagree!)
Among the guests were neighbour Felicity Hayes-McCoy, author of the popular The House on an Irish Hillside; Nick Massett, of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, who worked on the ‘Whales and Dolphins of the Dingle Peninsula’ exhibition in the museum;
Place name expert, historian and archaeologist Breandán Ó Cíobháin, historian Pat Nelligan, Siobhán Uí Fathaigh, another neighbour and Bernie Goggin, naturalist and geologist.
The programme will be broadcast on Saturday August 31 from 9.00am – 11.00am, and it is also hoped to be able to put a link up to the podcast.
Do listen in!
