Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne will be celebrating Heritage Week this year by inviting you to visit the museum for free on Sunday 19th and again on Sunday 26th August. We are open from 10.00 – 5.00 both days (and every other day of the week!) We look forward to seeing you! Beidh fáilte romhait!
On Tuesday 21 August there will be a guided walk along Cosán na Naomh (the Saints’ Path), gathering at the car park at Ventry Beach from 10.00 am for a 10.30 am start. Please bring strong walking boots, a packed lunch and suitable clothing for the weather conditions. A bus will be organised (for a small charge) to bring the walkers back to their cars, otherwise this is a free event. Further details from foh@udaras.ie.
On the evening of Wednesday 22 August, at 8.00 pm, Dr Patrick Wyse Jackson (Trinity College, Dublin) will give an illustrated talk in Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne, Baile an Fheirtéaraigh (Ballyferriter) entitled: “The dramatic geological history and fossils of Corca Dhuibhne”. A small workshop on the fossils of the area will be part of the event, which is also free of charge.
