Heritage
Week, 2010
To celebrate Heritage
Week 2009 entry to the museum was free on Sunday 23 August and again
on Sunday 30 August. This will happen again during Heritage Week 2010,
which takes place from 21st to 29 August.
• On the morning
of Saturday 29 August a guided walk along one of the Siúlóid
Oidhreachta took place beginning at the museum at 10.00 am and finishing
c. 12.30 pm. Each of these walks incorporates some of the local archaeological
sites, and the guides were 2 members of staff of Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne,
who are very familiar with the area and all of its interesting features
and stories. It is proposed to have a similar walk during Heritage Week
2010, 21-29 August.

Regular Activities
In conjunction with Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne, many events are held
in the café of Músaem Chorca Dhuibhne. Among the regular,
annual events are the Hospice
Coffee Morning in September, the Alzheimer’s
Tea Day in May. Each August a coffee morning is held to raise funds
for the Chernobyl Children’s Group. Seachtain na Gaeilge
is celebrated each March with an appropriate event in the museum, usually
a demonstration or a reading of some sort, and International Languages
Day at the end of September is also celebrated appropriately. Other
events are advertised locally.

months, during some afternoons and evenings. Should you wish to enrol
